Alex Rivera
Hello,
I am an outreach librarian at the University of Arizona Libraries. I’ve been here just over 4 years. I completed my Masters at the University of Michigan’s School of Information in 2004. I was a Spectrum Scholar (Class of 2001) and have been active in ALA even before I became a librarian. I’ve served in several different capacities including as the member at large of the REFORMA Executive Board and the Spectrum Scholars Interest Group. Currently I am a member of ACRL’s Instruction Section where I chair the Instruction for Diverse Populations Committee and a member of the University Libraries Section.
I have a strong interest, both personally and professionally, in diversity especially as it pertains to education. I am a part of this group because I feel ALA membership would benefit greatly from having more young librarians active in the organization to bring fresh perspective to the profession and the work we are about. I’d like to help make this happen.
